Statement of Intent
The Beer Selling Industry Cambodia (BSIC) recognizes its responsibility to improve the health and working conditions of beer promoters selling beer in the Cambodian consumer market. The industry body has agreed to industry standards and will use its influence to ensure that other stakeholders also comply with these standards.
 
About Us
 
In December 2006, major breweries operating in Cambodia, Asia Pacific Breweries, Cambodia Brewery Limited, Cambrew Ltd., Carlsberg a/s, Guinness & Heineken International, established the Beer Selling Industry Cambodia (BSIC) with the objective of improving the health, safety and working conditions of beer promoters by setting industry standards. The standards are depicted in the BSIC Code of Conduct.

Members of BSIC have agreed to:

1. Employment contracts according to Cambodian labor law (1997)
2. English translation of labor law
2. Fixed basic salary
3. Clear supervision structures and grievance procedures
4. Decent, branded uniforms
5. Transportation and driver policies
6. "Selling Beer Safely" and life skill training
7. Zero tolerance harassment approach and policies
8. No alcohol during working hours incl. training in why and how to
    avoid this
9. Annual monitoring of compliance and impact by independent party
